I have to say that I am not sure how adding one teeny weeny baby could have instigated what seems to be our chaotic life. But since the birth of Reagan:
** Mike is SLAMMED at work to the point where I am not sure that we remember what each others names are. We only know that we must now each somehow because we have created four healthy children.
** These same four healthy children have become cat 5 tornados. They are ripping through our home screaming, laughing, crying, pooping (lots of poop), peeing, leaving trails of shoes, backpacks, books, toys and occasionally leaves (which is more proof that they are tornados).
** Double the laundry (due to the poop flinging)
** Double the dishes - which is weird
** My job has gotten busier because we just opened our 9th store and we are switching accounting softwares.
** To top off this wonderful list - Reagan has chosen to take after her big sister and be (dare I say it) COLICKY. I don't find this fair at all. Kara screamed for 3 hours straight every day for the first 6 months of her life. I am not sure what the lesson is supposed to be here. I can not handle another screaming baby. It makes me feel like it's a reflection on my being a good mother. I can't calm her down. Some days I can if I bounce her on the ball in my arms for 3 hours. But that can't be done because then the other 3 cat 5 tornados would turn into cat 6. And we don't even get a warning sign when that happens. No running to the basement and hiding under a mattress.
I know this is only temporary and have to keep reminding myself that I can be super mom. But without my cape, my powers seem to diminish and the only way they return is to sit on the couch with a corona or a glass of wine next to my husband (I think his name is Mike) and both of us look at each other, smile, and close our eyes and start snoring.
At the end of the day at least all six of us can kiss each other good night, say I love you's and sweet dreams - and get as good as sleep as some of us can and wait for the storms to start again at 6am.
I love my life!!

Ian's first day school
Ian started summer camp today at Free Horizon (the school we go to). We got him a backpack, lunch bag, and a water bottle and loaded it up with their checklist of items necessary for this 6 week fun-filled summer adventure.
We walk in the door and he is already running around checking the room out. He starts opening cabinets and drawers and asks me where the toys are. I tell him they don't have any toys at school - "Oh." I tell Kara (she is attending summer camp there as well) that I need her to help watch Ian until they get their morning started. I give them both their hugs, kisses, and have a great days and start walking out the door.
Ian chases after me and says "Mom, I gotta tell you sunthin," which is not anything unusual. He always has "sunthin" to tell me. So I squat down to his level and he whispers in my ear "Mom, I love you." I was already struggling with emotions because my son is finally in school and he just layed the frosting on so thick my eyes fill.
Thank you Ian for making your first day a memorable one for your mommy.
