Mud puddle!

This is Mike. I do not know why we did not move sooner. I finally feel like I live in the real Colorado. Every morning is still in the 30's. Deer in the yard daily. Kids riding the bikes at insane speeds down the hill that is part of my driveway. The stores and limited places to eat are full of friendly people (both workers and customers). Hanging in a hot tub at 8080 feet with my wife at night with the 30 degree temp freezing my bald head. Good times.

Interesting facts

I thought it would be fun, ok maybe not fun so much as interesting, to post the kids' weight and height on their Watch Me Grow pages.  I find myself always looking, when they have a checkup, and comparing to their previous weight and height and comparing to their siblings.  Ok, really I just like looking at their pages and crying and missing the days when they were so little.  However, I love watching them grow up!!  Just not so fast:)

Deer

We knew that there would be a lot of animals when we moved to our mountain home.  Bears, mountain lions, deer, oh my.  The only animal we've seen (and hopefully Only see) is deer.  They are everywhere.  Our neighbors told us that they usually have their babies in our yard or theirs.  They've hung around our house a lot today.  I'm thinking of two reasons today.  Either they are bedded down beneath our many trees, they have a favorite spot to the right of our house, because it's snowing.  Or they intuitively know that their long lost New York cousin is in the crock pot.  Hopefully when I leave today they don't try and take me down:)

Good times and good eats:)

Quote

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
